new blog

here

Sorry guys, but wordpress sucked.

Doctor who?

One’s gone, one’s back.

Most memorable mr ang wee hiong personal experience: Ok my pw group were busy doing our powerpoint for op then he suddenly sneaked up onto us steathily and said “hard at work, people?” Then he mumbled “do the school proud, I’m sure you all can get an A for pw.” I mean, personal endorsement from your principal for pw. What else can I say?

And after today I still don’t know who is my gp tutor! I hope it will be someone as funny as ms ong. Seriously, she is like the female House, but a more humane one of course. Ok and in addition, I think all classes should have like an immersion CT session and bio lesson with my civics tutor because they are totally unique, I mean I can’t write the details here but our ct sessions and bio lessons are you know, just different.

Yeah then during mps there’s this funny woman who wanted to appeal her $300 fine for throwing the parking coupon tabs on the ground because she “was in a rush to fetch her daughter who is in her 2nd day of primary one. Being an eager parent who was running late to fetch her child, the strong January wind in addition to her eagerness caused her to unclasp my hand which allowed the parking coupon tabs to fall onto the ground. She has promised that she has learnt her lesson and will never dirty the environment again. She has even installed a plastic bag in her car to contain all the used parking coupon tabs in future. Kindly consider her case compassionately.”

Feel so satisfied after helping that woman, I actually typed all that out which goes to the MP and the ministry. Just helping out a damsel in distress, saving $300 which could have been used to spam her primary one daughter with assessment books.

the stripper

I found the recording for this song. It sounds cool actually!

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Stripper” is an instrumental composed by David Rose and recorded in 1962. It evinces a jazz influence with especially prominent trombone lines, and evokes the feel of music used to accompany striptease artists.

The piece features in the films Slap Shot, Used Cars, The Full Monty and Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit as well as TV series Monty Python’s Flying Circus, Coupling, Little Britain, Are You Being Served? and Scrubs. It was also famously used in a parody by British comedy duo Morecambe and Wise, where they danced to the tune while making breakfast. A PG Tips tea commercial featured a parody of the Morcambe and Wise sketch with Johnny Vegas and Monkey making a cup of tea in a similar manner.

American hard rock band Mötley Crüe occasionally used the original song as an intro during performances in the late 80s, most notably at the one-time Moscow Music Peace Festival which were held in August 1989.

A famous Noxzema shave-cream advertising campaign developed by the William Esty Advertising Agency used the piece as background music for a television commercial that featured Swedish model Gunilla Knudson telling men to “Take it off! Take it all off!”. Cut to closeups of the faces of men shaving with safety razors, the razor strokes coinciding with the emphatic parts of the tune.

The song reached number one on Billboard magazine’s Pop Singles and Adult Contemporary charts in 1962.

The late professional wrestler, Rick Rude, utilized this as his theme song.

2010

My wishes for the new year are very simple. Maybe.

1. Survive A levels.

2. Good capriccio.

3. Have normal juniors.

4. Another overseas class outing.

5. Snsd to hold a concert in singapore.

That’s all. Happy new year!

F j2 life.

2009

Avatar is incredible, especially in 3D. Awesome is such an understatement. Graphics were jizz in my pants, literally but somebody else’s though, because there were at least 5 people who rushed out to the toilet during the movie to not jizz in their pants. Though the storyline is okay, neytiri rocks. The score is nice too.

Sherlock Holmes is damn funny. Enough said. But it sometimes was like Brokeback Mountain without the sex.

boxing day

So my day after christmas was spent listening to phil winds at esplanade. They played “music from the beatles” (very nice trumpet, trombone, sax solos), a alto sax solo song i think it was called “tears of moon” can’t remember, the alto guy (his name was ang yi xiang) was awesome, altissimo the ending notes i think everyone in the hall was deeply enthralled. Then there’s ponyo which some people were like “whut? -.-” but the trumpet guy sounds very good. Best one I think was clarinet candy, xiang dang nian hcband played this. Yeah finally there’s the usual christmas songs, quite interesting. Speaking of christmas, my favourite christmas song is “last christmas” originally by Wham, but this arrangement sounds great too. Taylor Swift has a version but I don’t think it’s as great.

the girl that is liked by all

Was thinking about thailand namely the kasetsart workshop and what leng said about the two kinds of people that will surface – 1. “Woah they are really good. I must aim to be like them in future.” 2. “Omfg they are good. But I’ll never reach that standard.” Yeah, it has really dawned on me that there is almost no time left. And I can still remember the shock on the thai saxophonists’ faces when they asked “How often do you all practice a week?”. So when I said “2 maybe 3 times” They were really completely stunned. Like the 3 of them –> o.o o.o o.o Then they said “We practise almost everyday!” Quite an awkward situation there but thank god ahfatt tried to explain that our school is “academically inclined” and it is just a extra curriculum activity and we are not really music students too.  Nonetheless, they were understanding and sweet, they gave me two books which are quite useful even ahfatt got a copy. “Practical Tutor for the Saxophone” by Otto Langey and “Melodius and Progressive Studies for Saxophone” by David Hite. I was lucky to got to play something with them and they really sound awesome. They also taught warmups which make the ones we play now a piece of cake. Nothing beats pure hard work in the end I guess.  Hard work coupled with adversity. That makes you even better. We got a bloody $26 million salt centre and they don’t even have proper rehersal rooms. Though the sax people were in a so-called room which was actually like a storeroom for extra chairs, some sections were like standing around trees or just some open space. Well, I guess it’s just the difference in the education systems in these two countries, they can really focus on their music without the mentality of “academic results are everything”. That we can’t do much. But we can work harder though. Let’s end the decade on a high note (no pun intended). It can be done. So you may ask what’s the no-link post title “the girl that is liked by all”? That’s the name of the thai saxo girl who gave me the books, translated from thai of course. Cute? haha

merry christmas

class christmas eve pseudo-stayover at alyssa’s house was so jizzy! Graced by the presence of mr ng (黄A) the godly rockband drummer cum bestest math tutor, ms wong (黄B) the lamest and fabuloustest chem tutor, and ms ong the sarcasticest and awesomest gp tutor. Jizz it up!

on a side note, thai names have very deep meanings.
